Job Description

The Carroll School of Management (CSOM) seeks an Assistant Director for Restricted Funds and Operations who will work with the Budget/Planning team within the Dean's Office. The Assistant Director will manage the certain daily operations within CSOM to ensure efficient and robust support for the school and the programs within the school.  This position will be responsible for supporting all research personnel in CSOM in all aspects of grant management and will act as a liaison with the Office for Sponsored Programs (OSP). This position will work with Faculty on all aspects of proposal preparation including budget preparation. S/he will be responsible for post-award management, which includes but is not limited to the processing of allowable expenses on the award, processing of payroll on a weekly/monthly basis, ensuring time and effort reports are signed off on time, managing the schedule for financial and scientific reporting deadlines, internal grant reporting/forecasting, and award closeout. Responsible for the fiscal management of grants and contracts in accordance with government regulations, sponsor requirements, and University policies and procedures. S/he will liaise with Centers within CSOM that are grant funded on concerns, questions, etc.S/he will be responsible for managing all gifts and endowments for the Carroll School of Management. This position will be responsible for gift/endowment forecasting and reporting, processing of expenses in accordance with the gift and endowment policies and restrictions. S/he will liaise with the Centers within CSOM that are gift/endowment funded as well as with Central Finance on gift/endowment questions.This position will support the Executive Director of Finance and Administration in all operations, including but not limited to space planning, TM1 input, reporting, equipment management, etc. S/he will be the CSOM Data Security Officer and will be responsible for updating CSOM's Business Continuity Plan. This position will also support the Dean and the Executive Director of Finance and Administration with special-projects.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • at least 5 years of grant experience required
  • Experience managing gift/endowment funds is preferred
  • Excellent written, communication and organizational skills
  • Strong experience with PeopleSoft Financials (including the grants module), Microsoft Office suite (Excel a must)
  • Ability to work well under pressure, take initiatives, and follow-through on multiple projects and tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and speed
  • Ability to work in a collaborative setting and on team-based projects
