Job Description

Registered Nurse is responsible for coordination and monitoring of total health care program for students with multiple disabilities including complex
health care needs.   Daily administration of medications to Campus School students which includes: obtaining appropriate medical orders from parents and physicians.  Treatment of specific seizure disorders, chest physical therapy, suctioning, nebulizer treatments, gastronomy feedings, mickey button maintenance, or any emergency.  Provides health education and training to teachers and related services staff to ensure that medical protocols are in place for each student.  Responsible for ensuring that a yearly physical examination is conducted by each students’ physician including vision, hearing and dental screening.  Responsible for management of all necessary immunization information as required by the Department of Public Health.  Completion of health care assessments and attendance at  IEP (Individual Educational Plan) meetings.  Supervises University nursing students while on their assigned clinical.  Works in collaboration with nurse practitioner consultant in developing health care procedures and student medical care.

Supports the mission of the Campus School as a transdisciplinary team member.

Requirements

Required Education & Experience

Registered Nurse with  Bachelors’ Degree and minimum of one year of experience working in pediatric nursing with students with special health care needs
