Job Description

Coordinate and oversee the administration of the Premedical Programs which involves approximately 1300 students, the majority of whom are from the Morrissey College.  Approximately 75 alumni are advised on an annual basis as well. A significant aspect of this position involves career and academic counseling for undergraduates and alumni who are considering health related careers. In addition, this position is responsible for coordinating the extensive application process and writing letters of evaluation for students applying to health professions graduate schools as well as undergraduate internship and summer research programs. The Assistant Director will interface with numerous departments across campus; coordinate the Premedical Committee - including assigning faculty advisors, preparation of all materials related to semi-annual Faculty Committee Review, and gather and analyze all data necessary for composing a significant portion of the annual report.


Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred, bachelor’s degree required. 

Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential. A demonstrated ability to speak and write persuasively about higher education and the expectations of medical programs is highly desirable.

Customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must be team orientated and a self-starter with a high degree of flexibility to handle changing priorities.

Some evening and weekend work required in conjunction with networking, advising events and deadlines for composing recommendation/evaluation letters.
