The Associate Controller, Cash Management and Financial Applications, reports to the Director Financial Services and Reporting, manages and directs the operational activities of Cash and Bank Services, Financial Applications/Reporting Offices, and serves as financial liaison to the Auxiliary Services Business Office. The Associate Controller provides direction and support on all financial applications used by the Controller’s Office, and recommends/implements improvements to University business processes that enhance operational efficiencies, controls, and accountability. Responsible for developing and publishing financial policies and procedures pertaining to receipt, safeguarding, reporting, and record keeping
of all University cash and cash equivalents to ensure protection, accurate and timely processing, and proper recording. Oversees the ecommerce cashiering/eMarket software, providing payment solutions for academic and administrative departments and monitors activities related to University bank accounts and merchant card services. Ensures compliance to PCI standards relating to payment card processing;
provides guidance and support to enhance the strategy, design, and development of financial reporting; and administers agency funds for third party users of the University financial accounting system. Manages and directs eight full-time employees in all operational aspects related to the collection and depositing of cash and cash equivalents, and processing funds using Higher One Cashiering and eMarket products.
Hiring range: FY’19 $105,600 to $132,000; salary commensurate with relevant experience
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or MBA combined with cash management and accounting experience. CPA preferred, with five years public accounting experience. In-depth knowledge of GAAP, Financial Accounting Standards (FAS) and federal compliance requirements also required; along with 7 to 10 years of higher education financial administration or related professional experience in a supervisory role and strong organizational and project management skills. Experience using PeopleSoft or other financial accounting system preferred.Closing Statement
