Job Description

The GIS & Facilities Information Analyst will fulfill a critical role in Facilities Management’s commitment to promoting technology advancement throughout the division.  Leveraging recent progress in the building of geographic information systems (GIS) data for the University, this position will enable publication of digital campus maps for use by various administrators across the campus community..  This position will maintain the data and build applications in a manner that will allow self-service and the adoption of the technology by other Facilities personnel, support departments that use Facilities Management’s GIS-based campus map, and integrate GIS with other systems and technology.

As part of the Facilities Management Information Systems department, this role will provide technical support for a variety of many other facilities systems, including but not limited to capital project portfolio management (PMWeb), building management (Metasys & Struxureware), mailroom package tracking (SCLogic), and general office productivity systems (including use of Google Apps, Microsoft Office & Project). Systems integration, management of system upgrades, troubleshooting of networked devices, and training of facilities personnel are key functions for all members of the department.



Requirements

The successful candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of ArcGIS applications (desktop and online), location-based data structures, the use of AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel.  In addition, the candidate must have a portfolio of experience including printed and/or online maps, presentation materials,  data management strategies, and use of standards.  Report writing experience is desirable.  Organized work habits, an eagerness to learn new technologies, and strong communication skills are essential to this role.  
Facilities management experience is preferred.  

Bachelor's degree is required (major in engineering, architecture, or geography is preferred).  

Esri technical certification is desirable.
