Job Description

The Rappaport Center for Law and Public Policy at Boston College Law School is seeking a skilled and highly organized Administrative Assistant.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Assistant provides administrative support to both the Faculty Director and Executive Director within the Center. The position is responsible for day-to-day running of the office and handling logistics for all Center programming.   The Assistant must be able to execute plans and arrangements with good judgment and independent decision making. The position must be able to work without constant monitoring.

Being the primary point of contact for the Rappaport Fellows Program including: working to create marketing materials for prospective applicants; visiting law schools for information sessions; collecting and organizing all applications; scheduling and partaking in the interview process; working in coordination with the Executive Director to select Fellows; attending weekly experiential learning opportunities with the Executive Director and Fellows; creating, disseminating, and collecting a Program Evaluation; and submitting necessary paperwork to process supplemental payment forms upon completion of a writing requirement and evaluation. 

The Assistant handles office administrative functions relating to databases, documents, resources and physical space, etc; handles all details relating to programming sponsored by the Center including events, fellows programming, functions, roundtables, and board meetings; serves as receptionist fielding questions (in person and over email), provides secretarial support, schedules appointments and meetings, and travel arrangements; updates office website, distributes information on other social media sites and in newsletters, prepares publicity materials, creates listservs and surveys to collect data and information.
