Job Description

The Director will be responsible for the design, implementation and administration of a quality child care program which meets the needs of children and college employees and provides a quality preschool
education and a nurturing environment.

Supervises daily operations of child care programs, daily classroom visits, ongoing comment, support and discussion with staff--- 20%

Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates staff, recruits staff, provides training and evaluation twice annually;

Performs monthly: one informal and one formal level staff training in a low staff/child ratio--- 15%

Utilizes parent and academic dept. support, meet with Parent Advisory Board and Resource Committee,     formation of the Board and Committee Regularly scheduled meetings--- 15%

Encourages and facilitates parent involvement, arrange meetings, schedules work shops, conferences, and social opportunities, resulting in monthly Parents’ Meetings/social Three guest speakers, Bi-annual parent/teacher conferences--- 15%

Supervises the development of overall curriculum philosophy, meet bi-weekly with Head Teacher
and staff to review curriculum--- 10%

Administers program in accordance with policies of Boston College and Office for Children, insure all necessary processing with Human Resources and OFC, resulting in Approval of policies and procedures by 

H/R and OFC--- 5%Plans and monitors program budget, project and track expenditures with H/R and Controller--- 5%

Purchases and maintains of equipment and supplies, monthly checks on equipment and supply--- 5%

Opening or closing center as scheduled, insuring supervision and adequate coverage---5%

Requirements

A minimum of a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, Med. Preferred

Three to five years’ experience in managing a Child Care Center.
